ARC review of Deadly is the Kiss by Rhyannon Byrd

Blurb:

Tasked with protecting humanity from harm, the last thing Ashe Granger was searching for on his mission was his destined mate. Then, a mysterious dark-eyed beauty reluctantly offered him shelter. A spark of danger—and a soul-deep recognition—ignited a burning, carnal need….Since her family's exile, Juliana Sabin had borne full responsibility for their safety. So when evil struck, she had no choice but to ally herself with the sexy guardian vampire. Now, months later, Ashe is back and tempting Juliana to reveal her darkest secrets…and desires. For the killer stalking the shadows isn't acting alone—and he won't rest until his deadly cravings are fulfilled.

Ashe will never forget the beautiful Juliana Sabin from a mission in the wastelands. She offered him shelter and he ended up with something he wasn’t looking for. Now months later, Juliana is back and forced to join forces with Ashe. She has no idea the turmoil he is in and he has no idea what her deepest darkest secret is. Now with Ashe “burning” and doing everything he can to resist claiming his mate and Juliana trying to keep her secret hidden, they have to find the killer without losing themselves in the process.

Fantastic Read!!! I have always loved Rhyannon Byrd’s writing and this one is no different. Thrilling, sexy, and emotional right from the beginning. I sincerely loved Ashe, he was kind of an ass at times but he was also caring when he needed to be. Juliana was a great character as well. She was strong and confident and extremely brave. There were times when I wanted to strangle them both though and that made them very real to me. When the two of them came together, wow, watch out people, it gets pretty hot. Ashe is one hell of a lover and totally insatiable. The chemistry was tangible and flowed off the pages in waves.

The story was very well written. It flowed well and there were no noticeable plot holes. I thought the progression of the story was perfect and had just enough suspense and creativity to keep you glued to the pages until the last one.

A definite must read!

Note: This story is directly related to The Primal Instinct series. Some of those characters are brought up and talked about and you originally meet Ashe and Juliana there as well. However, it is not necessary to read those books before this one. You will still understand the story.
